Bluebirds Developmental & Educational Psychology provides comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational evaluations for children, teens, and college-age young adults throughout Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Columbia County, North Augusta, and Aiken. Dr. Wright is both a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Certified School Psychologist, so every evaluation is grounded in clinical rigor and translates directly into practical recommendations for school, therapy, and home.
Families often begin an evaluation with a specific question: Could this be autism? ADHD? A learning difference?
But these areas of development rarely exist in isolation. Attention difficulties can affect learning. Language differences can contribute to behavioral concerns. Difficulties with executive functioning can affect school performance, independence, and daily routines. Adaptive functioning can also provide important information about how a child manages everyday demands and independence.
A comprehensive evaluation looks beyond a single diagnostic question. Cognitive functioning, academic skills, language, adaptive functioning, attention, executive functioning, and other areas are considered based on the individual child and the questions that need to be answered. This broader approach can help identify areas that may be contributing to a child's strengths and challenges and ensure that recommendations address the child's needs as a whole.
This is why Bluebirds evaluations are individually designed rather than following a fixed checklist. The question a family starts with isn't always the only question that needs to be answered. By considering the broader picture, we can better understand how different areas of development may be connected and provide recommendations that are relevant to the child and family.
Every Bluebirds evaluation is comprehensive and individually designed around your child's history and the questions the evaluation needs to answer. Every evaluation begins with a detailed developmental and background history review and, depending on the referral concern, may include standardized cognitive and achievement testing, targeted measures specific to the presenting concern, and other tools selected to give a complete picture. Every evaluation ends with a comprehensive written report and individualized recommendations for school, therapy, and home.

We believe families should know the cost of an evaluation before they begin. There are no hidden fees or additional charges for the services included in your comprehensive evaluation.

Every Bluebirds Evaluation is individually designed. The assessment measures and length of each testing session may vary based on your child's age, history, strengths, concerns, and the questions the evaluation needs to answer.
Bluebirds is a private-pay practice. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required to schedule the clinical intake and is applied toward the total evaluation fee. We provide a detailed superbill for potential out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Financing options may be available for all or part of the evaluation fee, subject to applicable terms and approval.
